Energy Efficiency Opportunity Survey (EEOS)

What is an Energy Efficiency Opportunity Survey?

In order to make energy efficiency knowledge more accessible, William Martin Energy is providing low-cost ‘Energy Efficiency Opportunity Surveys’ to companies that we think have significant potential to capitalise on energy efficiency. The surveys are conducted by our experienced efficiency experts who also have a clear understanding of the business case behind efficiency.

The reports are geared towards our clients being able to utilise the Carbon Trust interest free loans to pay in full, for our reports recommendations. Making for a no-cost exercise as the loan repayments are covered by the energy bill savings made.

As a result of our Energy Efficiency Opportunity Survey, we regularly save our clients 20-50% on their energy consumption costs and the same again in energy supply costs through our online E-Auction brokering process.

The key driver for the success of any efficiency project is the clear demonstration of its financial benefit. On this basis William Martin Energy focuses its survey and report findings on clear information for financial directors and operations managers that demonstrates the following.

  • current efficiency processes and technologies available and the scope for implementing them in the business
  • a clear table of energy savings per recommended technology based on staff occupancy hours/equiptment run times
  • the cost to implement the project including identification of any pitfalls that need to be addressed e.g.heritage listings, plant shut down  times
  • a schedule of the payback times for each proposed element of the project and its availability for the Carbon Trust Energy Efficiency Loan
  • An analysis of your current energy supply contracts and the scope for obtainign better rates through our online E-Auction brokering process
  • An analysis of available grants for renewable energy such as the Feed In Tariff ( FIT ) and the Renewable Heat Initiative ( RHI )
  • A schedule of actions for each stakeholder involved detailing specific technologies, their suppliers and the next steps to procure them

Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) eligibility.

If your organisation is too large to qualify for the Carbon Trust Energy Efficiency Loan and has to participate in the Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC), we can tailor the report to demonstrate which technologies can yeild the highest reduction in CO2 emissions for £ value. This enables stakeholders to easily see the cost benefit of implmenenting energy efficiency projects and the associated reduction in Carbon Allowances that have to be purchased.

The costs of our surveys are dwarfed by the savings that your organisation will make as a result of implementing our actions. If you choose to proceed with our recommendations and appoint William Martin Energy to project manage their install, we can refund your survey cost in full and add it to the project cost in the Carbon Trust interest free loan application – thus keeping it off the balance sheet.

It is essential that every organisation understands the benefits of energy effciency and the significant effects that it can have on organisations cashflow. By being more efficienct organisations can increase staff levels or increase profits at the same operating costs. Let us show you how!
